The step-daughter of a man who accidentally shot himself early Friday morning was arrested after she interfered with an investigation and kicked a police officer, Colorado Springs police said.

Around 2:38 a.m. on Friday police went to investigate a reported shooting on the 400 block of South Hancock Avenue, where they found a man who told police he accidentally shot himself in the arm with an antique shotgun.

He was transported to a local hospital while police began an investigation at the home. The man's step-daughter, Kimber Dorsey, 19, began to interfere, police said. As she was taken into custody she kicked an officer in the hand.

Dorsey was arrested on suspicion of second degree assault on a peace officer, police said.
