A book co-authored by a Colorado College political science professor has been selected for the 2013 Outstanding Leadership Book Award.

The book is "Leadership Matters: Unleashing the Power of Paradox," by Tom Cronin, McHugh Professor of American Institutions and Leadership at CC; and Michael Genovese, director of the Institute for Leadership Studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

The selection committee, based at the Univeristy of San Diego's Graduate School of Leadership Studies, praised the book, published by Paradigm Publishers, for its "exceptional scholarship, innovating thinking and significant contribution to the field of leadership."

The award will be presented Oct. 31 in Montreal, at the annual conference of the International Leadership Association.
