Colorado Springs fire crews Tuesday morning were removing burned insulation from an attic area over two units on the second floor of the South Patio at the Garden of the Gods Club resort.
They have not determined yet what caused the insulation to burn.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department said there was no active fire.
An employee at the resort confirmed there was "something going on" at the South Patio, a separate building from the resort’s main clubhouse and lodge.
The complex on Mesa Road includes 66 guest rooms, a 27-hole golf course, a 43,000-square-foot main building, 21,000-square-foot golf clubhouse and recreation center.
The Gazette reported Jan. 31 that the partnership that owns the Garden of the Gods Club and related properties planned to put them on the market for sale with hopes of closing a deal by mid-summer.
