Lake Avenue was closed for several hours Saturday as Colorado Springs Police investigated a fatal rollover crash at Lake and Nevada Avenue.

Police said a woman, driving a small sport utility vehicle, died in the wreck. The driver of a second vehicle involved, a Chrysler sedan, suffered leg and head injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The crash was reported at 1:15 p.m. Police said a Geo Tracker turning from southbound Nevada onto eastbound Lake was struck by a westbound car. The crash caused the SUV to roll, and it ended up in the center median. The Chrysler also came to rest in the center median after striking a traffic sign and  a street light, police said.

"We're trying to determine the cause," said Lt. Brian Ritz pf the Specialized Enforcement Division. "It's too early to say if they were wearing their seat belts."

The road re-opened at 5:15 p.m.
