Air Force prosecutors charged an Air Force Academy cadet on Thursday with aggravated sexual assault, the academy said in a release.
The cadet was not named in the academy’s statement, and details regarding the charge were not released.
The announcement came the same day that another Air Force Academy cadet appeared for an evidence hearing in another sexual misconduct case.
It brings to six the number of cadets charged in sexual misconduct cases in the last 13 months.
Charges against one cadet were dropped after an evidence hearing last year.
Another cadet’s charges remain in limbo after an appeal was filed by Air Force prosecutors protesting a military judge’s decision to toss his charges. A decision on that appeal, which involves cadet Robert M. Evenson Jr., hasn't been announced.
Stephan H. Claxton was sentenced to six months confinement after being convicted of numerous counts of wrongful and abusive sexual contact stemming from a case filed in January 2012. Anthony D. Daniels Jr., a junior, is expected to appear for a court-martial in early March.
