Colorado College athletic director Ken Ralph withdrew from consideration for the open Western Illinois job, he said Friday.

Ralph, one of three finalists, spent last Tuesday night and Wednesday in Macomb, Ill. for interviews and to visit the Division I school.

“They have a lot of good things going on there but we have a pretty special thing going on here that we (he and his wife Mary) want to remain a part of,” he said.

Ralph has been the CC athletic director since 2007.
