Air Force’s Adam McKenzie garners national all-academic team accolade

Junior Adam McKenzie was named to the third team of the 2013 Capital One AcademicAll-American at-large team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

He was a first-team academic all-district selections.

McKenzie, from Petaluma, Calif., has a 3.84 cumulative GPA as an aeronautical engineering major. A first-team all-conference defenseman and Atlantic Hockey Association Defenseman of the Year, McKenzie was the team’s top scoring defenseman with 20 points (12 assists).

McKenzie was named the AHA Player of the Week, first weekly league honor of his career, with five points (1-4-5) to help lead Air Force to a sweep of 13th-ranked Niagara in March.
