Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Walk on the wild side and dine at this mountain zoo in Colorado Springs. There are two cafes that offer much more than popcorn and hot dogs. The Grizzly Grill offers daily carving stations, pasta bowls, rice bowls, wraps and fresh salads. The Overlook Caf? scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend, will offer upscale sit-down service. Plus, you have plenty of walking to do once you're done.


Play at The Broadmoor

This is the newest dining option at the resort, serving fresh, diverse foods from around the globe. Think Huli Huli Chicken (Hawaiian teriyaki and caramelized onions) or Thai Coconut Curry Chicken with steamed sesame rice. At the bar you'll find cocktails to make you nostalgic as well as an extensive Colorado beer, wine and spirits selection. Plus there are milkshakes made just for adults.


Craftwood Inn

This is the go-to stop for Colorado-style cuisine. It features wild game and foul along with Colorado produce, all prepared with gourmet flair. Dishes include such delights as buffalo short ribs, grilled quail, pheasant risotto and grilled red deer. There is an extensive, well-selected wine list that suits the robust cuisine.


Edge Restaurant and Bar

Located directly across from The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, it's the perfect spot to have lunch before a matinee or have a drink before the symphony. You can tuck up to a table in the sleek dining room for a wood-grilled steak dinner with one of the more than 200 wines.


Chefs Club by Food & Wine

This eatery debuted at the 2012 Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. There's a rotating roster of top-rated guest chefs who visit this posh mountain town restaurant to cook special dinners and create dishes for the ?la carte menu. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner.
