MeadowGrass Music Festival

Fans flock to Black Forest for camping, yoga classes, food, drinks, fun in the sun and music - lots and lots of music. The talent for the May 24-26 event is both new and established, and you're practically guaranteed to come away with a new favorite band. This year's gems include Blitzen Trapper, Dawes and Hot Club of Cowtown. meadowgrassmusicfestival.org

Denver Day of Rock

This single-day festival is presented by Concerts for Kids to raise awareness of children in the community. The lineup is lengthy for the free event May 25 in downtown Denver. Scheduled to play this year are the Austin Young Band, Something Underground, Lee Brice, Desert Noises, Peter Cincotti, Strange Americans and many others. denverdayofrock.com

Telluride Bluegrass

Folks come from near and far for the non-stop acoustic music party June 20-23. There are campsites, vendors and more music than you can shake a tambourine at in the San Juan Mountains. This year's lineup includes Mumford and Sons, Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, Steep Canyon Rangers, The String Cheese Incident, Jackson Browne and many others. bluegrass.com/telluride

Jazz Aspen Snowmass

Two large music festivals in Aspen comprise Jazz Aspen Snowmass. June Jazz Festival kicks off summer with a two-week event (June 21-July 6) that includes four nights of headline concerts from world-class musicians. The Labor Day Festival inhabits the swanky town from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1. Keith Urban, Jason Mraz and Journey are on tap for that. jazzaspensnowmass.org

Rocky Mountain Folks Festival

This Aug. 16-18 festival is a bit smaller, with a main stage and a tented area where up-and-comers perform. Vendors have all your eating and drinking needs covered, and the scenery of Lyons will do the rest. The well-known Folks Songwriter Showcase is a juried group of new songwriters from around the world who compete for a spot in the lineup. bluegrass.com/folks
