A District-11 official said the Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy and the Roosevelt Edison Charter Schools were taken off lockdown at 10:24 a.m. Friday.

Police said the juvenile suspect that officers were looking for related to a vehicle theft had not been caught at 11 a.m.

Two southeast Colorado Springs schools went on lockdown just before 9:30 a.m. Friday as police looked for a suspect who ran from a stolen vehicle at the Hiill Park Apartments on Pikes Peak Avenue.

Three people fled the scene and two juveniles were taken into custody, a Colorado Springs police release said.

The Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy and the Roosevelt Edison Charter Schools were still on lockdown shortly after 10 a.m., a District-11 official said.
