Crime list grows for Fort Carson soldier

DNA has linked the Fort Carson officer who is being held in Colorado Springs on suspicion of sexual assault on a child and child luring to another case in Texas.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s office said an arrest warrant is expected for 1st Lt. Aaron G. Lucas for a 2009 aggravated kidnapping, sexual assault case in Texarkana.

This is the second case DNA has been used to link Lucas to other crimes.

DNA also tied Lucas, who was initially arrested on Oct. 23, to the 2007 sexual assault of a six-year-old child from Madison, Ala. Madison authorities served an arrest warrant on him Jan. 2, the sheriff's department said.

Lucas is being held on several warrants after a multi-agency task force led by Fountain police tied him to crimes over a wide area.
