A Sunday morning fire at a downtown apartment building caused a big distraction but not much damage.
The fire started on an exterior wall of the five-unit building at 601 N. cascade Ave. just before 9 a.m.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and doused the blaze before it could grow. Because the fire was in a wooden apartment building, firefighters came by the truckload and part of Cascade Avenue was shut down for the effort.
The blaze was controlled within minutes.
Firefighters remained at the apartments in a bid to determine what started the fire.
No people were injured and the building's tenants were allowed to return home by 10 a.m.
