A brief police chase ended Thursday night with a crash and an arrest.

Colorado Springs police received a tip that a stolen car was in the 2500 block of East Platte Avenue. At 5:49 p.m. officers found a 2012 maroon Kia Sorento with New York plates. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Fountain in late November.

No one was in the car, so police set up surveillance.

A little after 7 p.m., a man and woman got into the car and drove off. When an officer attempted to make a traffic stop in the 2300 block of East Boulder Street, the driver sped away.

The car went through a business parking lot and then crossed over a large raised median in the 2300 block of East Platte. The vehicle got stuck on a high median after crashing into a tree.

No one was injured in the crash.

Donna Quintana was arrested on suspicion of theft and vehicular eluding, and two unrelated warrants. The male passenger was not charged.
