A wild foot chase by Colorado Springs police Wednesday night ended after one man shot at officers and two people were taken into custody.

William Dandrea, 32, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and Ryan Medlock, 34, was taken into custody in connection with an unrelated arrest warrant, police said.

Officers went 815 N. Nevada Ave. about 6:20 p.m. when a caller reported that two people were snooping around the building and "looking through the back windows with a flashlight."

The caller said the pair entered the home and were leaving in a vehicle.

Police pulled the vehicle over and Dandrea ran off, police said. According to the report, the man fired at least one shot at officers near East St. Vrain and North Weber streets before an officer and Dandrea fought briefly.

Dandrea is being held in the El Paso County jail. According to court records, his bail has been set at $50,000 and his first court appearance will be Jan. 4.

Medlock was not listed Thursday in the El Paso County jail log.

No burglary charges will be filed against the men as police determined that Dandrea and Medlock had permission to be at 815 N. Nevada Ave. on Wednesday.
