Essence Lovato has been found safe, according to the Colorado Springs police.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had issued an Amber Alert shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday for the missing 2-year-old girl.

She was last seen Monday night with Tonia Shetina near downtown Colorado Springs. Shetina, a 28-year-old female with blonde hair, is a person of interest in Essence's disappearance, police said.

Police said they received a tip based on the Amber Alert that Shetina was at a home just south of Fountain. At 3:30 p.m., CSPD Violent Crimes Investigators and deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s office responded to the home and recovered the girl.

Anyone who has information is asked to call 444-7000 or the Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers, Inc. at 634-7867.
