UPDATE: Girl found safe, Amber Alert called off

Essence Lovato has been found safe, according to the Colorado Springs police.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had issued an Amber Alert shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday for the missing 2-year-old girl.

She was last seen Monday night with Tonia Shetina near downtown Colorado Springs. Shetina, a 28-year-old female with blonde hair, is a person of interest in Essence's disappearance, police said.

Police said they received a tip based on the Amber Alert that Shetina was at a home just south of Fountain. At 3:30 p.m., CSPD Violent Crimes Investigators and deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s office responded to the home and recovered the girl.
