Colorado Springs police identified the motorcycle rider who was killed in an early morning crash Wednesday as John P. Lockett, Sr., 44, of Colorado Springs.

The crash between the motorcycle and an SUV occurred at about 1 a.m. at Interstate 25 and Fillmore Street. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Traffic was diverted for hours during the investigation by the Major Accident Unit.

All lanes on Fillmore were reopened at 5:15 a.m.

Charges are possible, pending completion of the investigation, police said.
