Phones down for sheriff's office non-emergent lines

December 10, 2012

The non-emergent phone lines for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office are currently inoperative, according to the office.

The dispatch phone system is experiencing "technical difficulties" according to an office release.

If someone has an emergency they are encouraged to dial 911 as usual. If they are unable to reach assistance there for some reason, they are encouraged to go to their nearest fire station.

People who don't have an emergency and want to reach the sheriff's office are asked to be patient while the office works to fix the phone lines. The office hopes to have the phones working again shortly.
