A special Falcon School District 49 board meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday has been canceled.
The board members were poised to discuss how a board president or vice president could be ousted from a leadership position on the board.
The meeting was canceled "in response to legal advice and counsel concerning proposed revisions to board policy ... ," district spokeswoman Stephanie Wurtz said in an email.
The policy issue has been tabled.
School board Vice President Chris Wright had said that a policy change would align board leadership with the majority of the five-member board.
But according to state statute, school boards elect officers to two-year terms after each election. President Tammy Harold, who said she was the target of the effort, was elected after the 2011 election.
A regularly scheduled board meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
