Seven Academy School District 20 schools have earned state honors, the district recently announced.

Academy International, Chinook Trail and Mountain View elementaries were awarded both the John Irwin School of Excellence and the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award.

Aspen Valley High School and Foothills Elementary School were each given the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award.

Pine Creek High School and Woodmen-Roberts Elementary each earned recognition as a John Irwin School of Excellence.

Schools and districts earn the honors from the Colorado Department of Education based on their performance in areas including academic achievement, academic growth, reducing academic growth gaps, and postsecondary and workforce readiness.
