One person is in serious but stable condition with broken bones and two others were uninjured in a two-car crash at Garden of the Gods Road and Mark Dabling Boulevard, according to the Colorado Springs police.
Eastbound Garden of the Gods was shut down from Northpark Drive for about two hours and reopened at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The crash occurred about 4 p.m. when a green Jeep Liberty heading west on Garden of the Gods and turning left onto Mark Dabling collided with a maroon Saturn sedan traveling east on Garden of the Gods, police said. The traffic light was yellow at the time.
After hitting the Jeep, the driver of the Saturn accelerated, slammed into the south curb about 300 feet from the intersection, went airborne and turned 180 degrees before landing on a car parked in front of a O'Briens One at 111 W. Garden of the Gods.
The driver had to be extricated by the Colorado Springs Fire Department. She was taken to a local hospital where she is in stable condition, police said.
The driver of the Jeep, who was not injured, was cited. A passenger in the Saturn was not injured.
