The El Paso County Coroner's Office identified the victim of Sunday night's rollover crash in eastern Colorado Springs as 23-year-old Michael Madrid.

Madrid died Sunday evening when his SUV crashed and rolled on Powers Boulevard just south of Platte Avenue about 7:30 p.m., Colorado Springs police said.

Police said officers found Madrid was thrown from the vehicle and wedged under the vehicle's hood. He was pronounced dead at the scene. According to police, it was a single-vehicle crash involving only Madrid.

Police said speed is likely a major factor in the crash, but it's not known if alcohol or drugs were involved.
