Police searched Saturday for a lone gunman who robbed MCM Elegante Suites around 2 p.m.

The man, carrying a semiautomatic handgun, entered the business at 6450 N. Academy Blvd. and demanded money from the hotel’s front desk clerk, police said. He left with an undetermined amount of money in a tan metal box.

The suspect was described as a white male, between 40 and 50 years old, 5-10, with a medium to medium-heavy build. He was wearing a dark gray winter hat with fur around the bottom, with fur ear flaps that had been pulled down, sunglasses, a mostly yellow multi-color bandanna, and a dark blue pullover windbreaker with a light blue stripe running horizontally across the chest, blue jeans and gray tennis shoes.
