Police say a mugger armed with a pistol held up two people on Tejon Street downtown Friday night and got away with wallets and jewelry.

Two people were walking near the intersection of Tejon and St. Vrain Streets just before midnight when they were approached from behind by the armed man in a black hoodie, police said.

He threatened each of the victims with the gun while demanding their valuables, police said.

The pair handed over the loot and the thief ran off.

An extensive search didn’t turn up the mugger, police said.
