A Gazette editorial admonished Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar for threatening to “punch out” reporter Dave Philipps. Salazar made a sincere apology to Philipps on Wednesday, verbally and in writing. He also agreed to an interview regarding wild horses that were sold by the Bureau of Land Management to a man who advocates horse slaughter.

Secretary Salazar, thank you for doing the right thing and making amends. Onward. — Wayne Laugesen, for the editorial board.
