El Paso County deputies took a man they considered armed and dangerous into custody and three District-3 schools were taken off secured perimeter alert just before 9 a.m. Monday.
SWAT deputies captured the man in the 100 block of Security Boulevard, Sgt. Joe Roybal of the sheriff's office said. According to Roybal, deputies went to a home in the area about 7:30 a.m. to investigate a domestic disturbance. When deputies arrived, a man was beating his wife, Roybal said.
The man ran away from the area and Roybal said the man had access to weapons. H
Venetucci and Talbott elementaries and Watson Junior High School were on alert.
