A 23-year-old man was arrested on investigation of drunken driving after police say he lost control of his car on Interstate 25 Friday night.

Colorado Springs police were called to the southbound onramp to the interstate from Cimarron Street just before midnight. Police say Ricardo Castellanos was merging onto the freeway at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his Cadillac sedan. The vehicle careened across the roadway, slamming through a concrete barrier and into the northbound lanes, officers said.

Police say the car slid on its side for about 100 yards before it stopped in a northbound lane.

One car was hit by flying debris from the crash, by no one was hurt, police said.

Castellanos was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.
