On Thursday evening, Colorado Springs Police found the body of a man near Stetson Hills Elementary School.

Police were dispatched to an area east of the 6300 block of Emma Lane and west of Stetson Hills Elementary School at about 8 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found the body of a man believed to be in his late 30s on one of the walking trails in the area. It appeared that the body had been there for some time, police said Friday.

Police say there doesn't appear to be anything suspicious about the death. The identification of the deceased will not be released pending an autopsy and notification of the next of kin.

Members of the Violent Crimes Homicide Unit responded along with the El Paso County Coroner’s Office to assist in the investigation.
