WESTMINSTER — Westminster police are asking the public's help as they investigate the murder of a 10-year-old girl who was believed abducted on her way to school.

Police say 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway was last seen beginning a short walk from her home to Witt Elementary School the morning of Oct. 5. Police said Monday they have no major developments in the case. On Wednesday, authorities discovered her body in an Arvada park about 7 miles west of her Westminster home.

The Denver Post reports (http://bit.ly/V1TOb6 ) a memorial is planned Tuesday in Arvada.

Authorities say they don't believe the slaying is related to an abduction and sexual assault in Cody, Wyo., Oct. 8. The girl was found hours after being abducted and authorities arrested a suspect Saturday in Belgrade, Mont.
