Who will be next man up to manage the Colorado Rockies?

After mulling over an offer to return as Rockies manager for 48 hours, Jim Tracy decided Sunday he was no longer the "right man for the job."

So, the Rockies are conducting their first managerial search since Jim Leyland resigned in 1999. Both Clint Hurdle and Tracy took over during the season.

Denver Post Rockies beat writer Troy E. Renck looks at an early list of potential replacements, with bench coach Tom Runnells and Triple-A manager Stu Cole of Colorado Springs confirmed as in-house candidates.

No other potential candidate has yet been identified.
