WALDO CANYON FIRE EVACUATIONS, CLOSURES, CANCELLATIONS

TUESDAY UPDATE (JULY 3)

Residents of approximately 331 homes located south of Champagne Dr. (including Champagne Dr. and Capra  Way off of Champagne Dr.) and north of 30th St. will be able to safely return home as of  6 pm on Tuesday, July 3.  Homes will have water and electricity, while individual gas service will take additional time to restore. For utilities questions, please see www.csu.org. Please read any placard on your home which will include individualized directions for your home. These homes are located on:

  • Champagne Dr.
  • Flying W Ranch Rd. south of Champagne Dr.
  • Hearthstone Ln.
  • Alderstone Way
  • Stoneridge Dr.
  • Capra Way
  • Ramsgate Ter.
  • Fieldstone Rd.
  • Braeburn Way
  • Cameo Way
  • Denby Way
  • Ellery Ln.
  • Alpine Meadows Ln.
  • Granby Cir.  
  • Also included are Capra Way and portions of Lions Gate Lane. 

 

TELLER COUNTY UPDATE:

Teller County Sheriff Mike Ensminger has announced that all Teller County and Woodland Park residents have been taken off pre-evacuation status.


MOUNTAIN SHADOWS UPDATE AS OF SUNDAY NIGHT:

Residents of all homes on Eileen Court, Centauri Road, Boardwalk Drive and Corporate Plaza Drive may return today at noon. Residents of addresses 4510 through 4795 on Granby Circle may also return home. These homes are all located north of 30th Street. Full utilities, including gas, have been restored to all of these homes. Only these residents may return at this time, however. Like all previously opened areas, these areas remain on pre-evacuation status.  Announcements of additional neighborhood openings are anticipated tomorrow at the 8 a.m. media briefing. 


MOUNTAIN SHADOWS UPDATE AS OF SUNDAY NIGHT:

Mandatory Evacuation status remains in place for Mountain Shadows from south of Wolfe Ranch Rd. and west of Flying W Ranch Rd. to 30th St., and for the following streets east of Flying W Ranch Road:

  • All businesses along Centennial and 30th
  • Centennial Boulevard


EVACUATIONS LIFTED SATURDAY EVENING:

Officials in Monument and Palmer Lake have lifted a pre-evacuation order for residents in the area north of the Air Force Academy, west of Interstate 25 and south of County Line Road.

The City of Woodland Park, east of State Highway 24 from Crystola to Baldwin St./Rampart Range Rd. to the Teller County Border at Loy Creek; west of Highway 24 and South of Aspen Garden Way, Rodeo Way, Ranch Drive, Mane Stree, CR231/West Street intersecting Highway 24, West on Highway 24 to Edlowe Rd., and South on Edlowe Road, to include the subdivisions of Ranch Estates and Holiday Hills; all residences north of a line from Crystola to Catamount Estates (off of CR 281).

• Pine Cliff
• Kissing Camels (East of 30th street from Gateway Road to Garden of the Gods Road)
• Holland Park
• Pleasant Valley
• The apartment complex at Garden of the Gods Road and 30th Street
• Commerce Center Drive north from East Woodmen to Pine Creek Drive
• Douglass Valley and Pine Valley housing areas on the Air Force Academy
• Cedar Heights, a gated community west of the Garden of the Gods
• Rockrimmon
• Woodmen Valley

PRE-PRE-EVACUATION NOTICE LIFTED
• The pre-evacuation notice for all of Douglas County was lifted Friday Morning

DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER

El Paso County has opened a Disaster Recovery Center at the former El Paso County Department of Human Services building, 105 North Spruce Street. The center brings together non-profit and governmental agencies offering help to all residents impacted by the Waldo Canyon fire.

EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION:

To register a phone number (mobile or land) for reverse 911, go to www.elpasoteller911.org or call 719-471-6700. Those with Internet access are urged to register online because of a high volume of calls, but are cautioned that the website may be slow as well.

ROAD CLOSURES:

Gold Camp Road past the intersection of Gold Camp Rd. and High Drive and Gold Camp Rd. and Bonnie Vista Drive is closed to everyone who is not a local resident.
