A first grade teacher at The Classical Academy in Academy School District 20 is the first recipient of a new Space Foundation scholarship.

Mimi Bull was awarded The Anna and Kathryn Probert Educator Enrichment Scholarship. She will attend the Space Foundation's Space Across the Curriculum course Earth Systems Science: Our Earth Revealed held June 11-15, with fieldwork at Garden of the Gods park.

"As a first grade teacher, I have the opportunity to provide my students one of their first exposures to Earth sciences," Bull wrote in her application. "It is my responsibility to bring Earth science to life through hands-on experiential learning."

The annual scholarship covers tuition, materials and fees, plus provides a $500 stipend, and is specifically for educators at The Classical Academy Central Campus in Colorado Springs.
