Russell Middle School recently won the National School of Character Award from Character Education Partnership (CEP).

It's the second consecutive honor for Russell, in Colorado Springs School District 11. Russell is the only school in the state to receive the award this year.

National Schools of Character are schools and districts across the U.S. that are models of excellence in terms of character development and having caring, supportive school cultures. These schools have pledged to help other educators.

Russell will be honored at a CEP reception in November in Washington D.C.
