The television stars won’t be at this premiere.
It would be a little scary to have tigers and panthers walking around at Johnny’s Navajo Hogan Wednesday night.
Serenity Springs Wildlife Center volunteers will hold a viewing party of “Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy.” The actor visited the center a few months ago and the show will air on the History Channel at 7 p.m. The party begins at 6:30 p.m. at the restaurant, 2817 N. Nevada Ave.
There will be an extended happy hour, silent auction and raffle tickets. The event is free, but attendees can make donations. Among other things, the center needs $5,000 more to provide a handicap enclosure for Snow Magic, the rare white Bengal that had his leg surgically amputated in November at Colorado State University.
The former magic show big cat’s leg was paralyzed after a spinal aneurysm. He spends his days in a recovery pen until his new digs are ready. It will feature a den without steps and with a tall door so Snow Magic can walk straight into it. There will be a covered patio, and a ground level pool he can step into without jumping.
“He is doing great. I visited Snow yesterday for about 10 minutes and he was making happy chuffing” noises at me like I have never heard him “chuff” before. He is so much happier," said Serenity Springs spokeswoman Caraigh Clarkson.
