An Air Force Academy cadet died Saturday in a single-car crash on the installation’s North Gate Boulevard.

Academy officials identified the cadet who died as Stephen E. Williams, a junior, who helped manage the Air Force Falcons football team and was a systems engineering management major.

The academy isn’t releasing details of the crash, including the exact time and location, saying the crash “remains under investigation.” No timeline has been given for when the academy will deterime what caused the crash.

The academy’s commandant, Brig. Gen. Richard Clark, released a statement Tuesday.

“Our Air Force Academy family suffered a tragic loss over the weekend,” Clark said. “We ask everyone to please keep Stephen’s family, friends and wingmen in your thoughts and prayers.”
