Fire officials said two Pinon Canyon fires that burned for more than a week were 100 percent contained at about 1030 a.m. Thursday.

The Callie Marie and Bear Springs fires, that were started by lightning, burned about 9,000 and 35,000 acres respectively at Fort Carson's maneuver site. Also damaged in Bear Springs blaze were three sheds and a pair of unoccupied out buildings.

Firefighters are now in "clean-up mode" and are watching to make sure that additional fires don't reignite.
