The hunt for the kidnapper of an 8-year-old Denver girl continued to intensify Saturday as the search expanded nationally, with 50 FBI agents and more than 100 members of the Denver Police Department involved.

The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Bret Lee Luckett Thompson. He is considered dangerous.

"It's very possible he could still be in the metropolitan area, or it's possible he left the state," said David Fisher, division chief of investigations for Denver police. "We just don't know where he is."

Thompson also goes by "Wyatt" Thompson, Bret Luckett or any combination of those names, Fisher said.

Thompson is white, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, with short brown hair, brown eyes and light facial hair on his chin. He also has a tattoo with the letters "SS" or possibly the number "55" on his right arm.
