Pine Creek High School technology teacher Denise Gardiner won the Aspirations in Computing Educator Award from the National Center for Women and Information Technology.



The honor is presented to those who have demonstrated a commitment to encouraging young women's aspirations in computing.

Only 20 educators in the country are selected for this honor, out of 900 who endorsed applicants for a student award.

Gardiner will receive the award March 5 in Boulder. She will receive $1,000 to pay for professional development.
