Colorado Springs firefighters have a brush fire that has burned about 50 acres on the southern tip of Fort Carson overnight about 75 percent contained.
The blaze started at around 10 p.m. Wednesday near the town of Midway on the army base, according to Fort Carson spokesman Devin Fischer. At about midnight, the fire was only 15 acres, but spread to 50 acres just before 5 a.m. this morning.
It was moving northeast because of winds, but has slowed.
No cause has been determined and no structure have been threatened.
