Arrest warrant issued after two found dead in apparent Colorado Springs shooting

Colorado Springs police have issued an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Gary Glen Vigil, a suspect in the shooting death of a man and a woman late Saturday night in the area of 2800 E. Platte Ave.

Police describe Vigil as 5-foot-6 and 180 pounds with multiple tattoos on his chest, neck and arms. He is believed to be armed and dangerous, police said Sunday morning.


A man and a woman are dead after a shooting late Saturday night near Platte Avenue and Circle Drive, according to Colorado Springs police.

Police received the report of a shooting in the area of 2800 East Platte Avenue, at 10:44 p.m.

Police have no information about possible suspects.

An autopsy is pending by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office, who will rule as to the manner and cause of death of both individuals. If ruled as homicides, these will be the 20th and 21st homicides of 2013.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit are conducting the investigation and are in the process of investigating the scene and conducting interviews.
