A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with Saturday's shooting death of a man in the Security-Widefield area, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office reported Sunday.

Michael Malory was being held without bond in the county Criminal Justice Center, the sheriff's office said.

No further information was available, but Lt. Jeff Kramer, spokesman for the office, said a statement will be issued Monday that will identify the victim and provide more details about the shooting.

The victim was found shot at about 2 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 1000 block of Main Street. Four other people were in the house at the time of the shooting, Kramer said.

Authorities did not say whether the victim and the four people in the home were related or if any of them lived there.

Kramer confirmed deputies were on Main Street before the body was found. A cruiser had been in the area monitoring traffic and was approached by a man from the house to report the shooting, Kramer said.
