They're veterans of wars from across the years and all over the globe.

Now the members of MSG William J. Crawford VFW Post 7829 at Sundance Mountain Lodge in Monument are busy honoring and celebrating all veterans.

They take residents of the Veterans' Home on a tour of the Air Force Academy and pay regular visits to the Pueblo VA Community Living Center and the local Crawford House.

During the holiday, they celebrate with a family gala where a Vietnam vet chats with a World War II hero and a veteran of Iraq is welcomed by a Korean War vet.

This year's highlight was a performance by the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale's Springs Singers, whose signature "Dream a Dream" brought tears as it was sung individually to the guests.

Coordinating the celebration were Dick and Marilyn Bearden, Jerry and Patty Lollar and Darby Kelly.

Other celebrants included Bernard and Patrecia Minetti, Mark and Sue Damschen and Nate and Melissa Held, among others.

Members of the post had been there in November when Nate Held retired as an Air Force lieutenant colonel, an event that signaled time for a party.
