AROUND TOWN: Gleneagle Sertoma helps three charities with ProRodeo Hall of Fame event

People must have been coming down with cases of spring fever because Gleneagle Sertoma's annual "Spirits of Spring" brought out a record crowd to a new site, ProRodeo Hall of Fame, on May 4.

There were wine and food tastings offered by local vendors, long tables laden with silent auction items and a live auction of trips to Ireland, Paris, Africa and Napa Valley.

More than 300 people helped raise money for The Home Front Cares, Tri-Lakes Cares and Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care.

A delighted but extremely tired Sertoman, Todd Sherman, said the event was so successful they're going for bigger and better next year, too.

The club has a short time to rest up because its annual Patriot Golf Tournament honoring first responders and all branches of the military is Sept. 16 at Flying Horse Golf Course. Info: gleneaglesertoma.org

The club's board members include: Rae Berg, Paul Dickard, Bob Duckworth, Sherry Edwards, Dennis Egan, Bob Figgie, Joe Gray, Duane Gritzmaker, Denny Meyer and Bill Nance.
