"Alert all commands." The Force has invaded the bowling alley.

Wrapping up today, Darth Vaders, Jedi, Wookies and Princess Leias are competing for the galaxy in Junior Achievement Rock 'N Bowl Episode XXXIV - Battle at the Bowling Alley.

It's Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado's supreme fundraiser, with more than 200 teams rolling the strikes on 40 Harmony Bowl lanes. The action started Feb. 3-4 and continued this weekend. Banks competed against banks, real estate folks against each other, and that's just part of it.

It's a wild and goofy costume event raising over $100,000 annually for the nonprofit's work educating youngsters about the business world and financial literacy.

Another team has been hard at work running the event. JA Special Events Manager Cheryl Potman manned the reception table with her corps of volunteers as JA President/CEO Carrie McKee strolled the crowd taking group shots with her "Princess Leia" smart phone.

Upcoming: a Black and White Gala April 8 at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, juniorachievement.org.
