Judges from the Fourth Judicial District and Municipal Court were treated to an after-work reception recently to thank them for their volunteer work with Colorado Springs Teen Court.

Hosts were the El Paso County Bar Auxiliary and the firm of Sparks, Willson, Borges, Brandt & Johnson, P.C.

Colorado Springs Teen Court, which is a nonprofit program, offers an alternative to regular Municipal Court sentencing for first-time misdemeanor offenders ages 10 to 18. Peers hold the young people accountable for their actions and offer relevant sentencing options.

Lawyers, judges and magistrates are volunteers for the monthly Teen Court trials.
