A man told police two armed men stole his car at gunpoint Wednesday morning as he stood in his driveway, Colorado Springs police said.

The theft was reported about 7 a.m. from a home on the 100 block of North Chelton Road, said Colorado Springs police Lt. Catherine Buckley.

The robbers, one holding a handgun, drove to the victim's home in a maroon Nissan Altima and stole a white 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said. The Jeep was running and the owner was in the driveway when it was taken.

Buckley said the victim was not injured.

The victim called police a second time about 9 a.m., reporting that he saw the Jeep drive past his home.

Anyone with information can call police at 444-7000.
