All lanes of I-25 between Cimarron Street and Nevada Avenue were closed because of an overturned truck and a multiple-vehicle crash, Colorado Springs police said.
Shortly after 8:20 a.m. a large flat-bed truck carrying pipes overturned just south of Cimarron Street, blocking all northbound lanes. The oversized pipes spilled over to the southbound lanes and caused several vehicles to crash, but only minor injuries were reported, Sgt. Bradley Pratt said.
The investigation and clean up are expected to take several hours and drivers are strongly encouraged to avoid this area and find alternate routes.
Southbound traffic is being diverted through Cimarron Street and northbound traffic is being redirected through Nevada Avenue.
