An allegedly drunk woman drove her SUV into a motel in southeast Colorado Springs early Saturday morning, police said.

Summer Haugeto, 31, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic charges after she extensively damaged the office area of the Days Inn on the 2400 block of East Pikes Peak Ave, according to police. Around 1:10 a.m., an officer conducting an unrelated traffic stop near the motel witnessed a green Jeep Wrangler smash through the office area of the building.

An investigation revealed that Haugeto had allegedly been driving recklessly in the parking lot, striking a trailer and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, before coming to rest after hitting the motel.

Haugeto was injured in the crash and transported to Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries, police said.
