ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — The state of Alaska's dedication to the tourism industry has been recognized by a national industry group and by tour operators.
The National Tour Association held its annual conference in Los Angeles last week.
The state won the group's "Shining Star Award" for its long involvement with the industry group.
Tour operators chose Alaska as their "Favorite Destination for Adventure," and the Alaska Railroad received a bronze award for "Favorite Scenic Railroad."
