A Peterson Air Force Base airman charged with possessing and distributing child pornography, exposing his genitals to a child and strangling an adult will face court-martial early next year.
Senior Airman Czachery Rike, a firefighter with the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron, will face four charges - exposing his genitals via electronic communications technology to a child under the age of 16, possessing and distributing child pornography, committing sodomy by force against an adult, and strangling and assaulting an adult - at a court-martial scheduled to begin Jan. 21, according to court documents.
Rike has been held in the Teller County jail since May 31 when a commander ordered him into pretrial confinement.
Rike was charged by Col. John Shaw, 21st Space Wing commander, on Aug. 28.
Rike was arrested by the Colorado Springs Police Department on Jan. 7 on suspicion of sexual exploitation of a child.
His arrest was one of 12 made by the police department after an eight-month, multiagency investigation into online child pornography launched in May 2012.
Rike was released Jan. 11 from the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on $10,000 bond.
Charges were initially filed in civilian court but dismissed after it was agreed that the Air Force would exercise jurisdiction in the case.
Officials with the 14th Air Force, who have jurisdiction over the court-martial, would not say why Rike is being held in pretrial confinement, citing concerns for his privacy and the judicial process.
The actions by Rike are alleged to have occurred between 2009 and this year.
