Air Force’s Shane Starrett and Jordan Himley earned Atlantic Hockey Conference monthly awards after leading the Falcons to a 6-1-1 record in February.
Starrett was named goalie of the month for a 6-1-1 record (1.48 goals against, 938 saves percentage). The sophomore from Bellingham, Mass., recorded two of this season’s shutouts last month and even assisted the game-winning goal versus RIT on Feb. 18.
Himley was named the AHC player of the month with his league-high 11 points (seven assists).
The junior winger from Mundelein, Ill., recorded at least one point in six of the eight games. Himley tied his career high with three points (two assists) in the win over Bentley on Feb. 4 and tied his career high with two goals, including the game-winner, in last Friday’s win over Sacred Heart.
The idle Falcons (22-9-5) will host an AHC quarterfinal series, March 10-12, at the Cadet Ice Arena.
